What are Elopement Weddings

Elopement weddings – the words conjure up a picture of a couple madly in love fleeing far from their disapproving families to get married in secret. Thankfully, most elopement weddings today are far less dramatic and most of them have some loving family members in attendance.

Elopements are great for couples who want to wed with a minimum of fuss. The ceremony is sweet and simple and the number of guests small. The formal wedding reception is often replaced by dinner at a nice restaurant or a relaxed and informal barbecue. They’re a perfect wedding for couples who hate the limelight and don’t want to be the centre of attention.

Where do Couples Elope to

The short answer is anywhere at all. Some couples choose elopement weddings at a destination such as the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. Many couples get married close to home but without a lot of fuss and expense.

Where to Hold the Ceremony

You can have elopement weddings just about anywhere. Picture getting married in your favourite place – the beach, a beautiful garden, under a shady tree in a park or maybe, in the privacy of your own backyard.

What Kind of Ceremony do Elopement Weddings have

My Elopement Style ceremony is a beautiful little ceremony that runs for about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s short and sweet, but but you can write your own vows if you want to. I’m happy to help and send you some examples of wedding vows if you are stuck for words. Usually, elopements would not include readings or additional rituals like sand ceremonies or handfasting.

If you hate the idea of being the centre of attention for 10 minutes, perhaps my Kiss and Go style ceremony is what you are looking for. This is a no frills ceremony that includes all the legal elements you need to be validly married in Australia but doesn’t have any unnecessary extras. It runs for just a few minutes and I’m happy to marry you anywhere you choose.

I have conducted lots of elopement weddings. CALL ME NOW to find out how I can help you have your perfect, no fuss wedding day.
