Gold Coast Surf Club Wedding
A Gold Coast surf club wedding can be beautiful and great value too. The Gold Coast has miles of white sandy beaches and great weather most of the year. It’s a short drive south of Brisbane. The Gold Coast Airport at Bilinga makes getting to your wedding a breeze for interstate visitors and guests from overseas.
Forget About the Weather
Although the weather is usually lovely, a Gold Coast surf club wedding means that you can forget about wind and rain. In good weather, you can get married on the beach or in a nearby park. If the weather is less than perfect, most clubs usually provide an alternative, indoor location for your ceremony.
Most surf clubs have function rooms with event coordinators so your day runs smoothly and well trained staff who are always happy to help.
It’s All About the View
The very best thing about a Gold Coast surf club wedding is that the sea view is always amazing. Huge beach-facing windows give a great view of sand and sea in the daytime. At night, you can watch the lights come on along the coast and see the lights of ships on the dark ocean.
You’re lucky if the moon is full on your wedding day. Watching the moonrise over the ocean is totally romantic and never to be forgotten.
Great Value Packages
There are some great packages for Gold Coast surf club weddings. Check out North Burleigh SLSC, Bilinga SLSC and the recently rebuilt Kurrawa Surf Club at Broadbeach. They have great views and a reputation for good food and service.
The Surfers Paradise and Northcliffe Surf Lifesaving Clubs are right on the Glitter Strip and have some great cocktail style wedding packages. It is definitely worth a look. The Miami Beach Surf Lifesaving Club at Miami is in a quiet cul-de-sac and has some good value sit down and cocktail style reception packages. Other places worth considering for your Gold Coast surf club wedding are Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park SLSC, Tugun SLSC, and the Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC.
Check Out This Club
One of my very favourite clubs for a Gold Coast surf club wedding is the Pacific Beach Function Centre, part of the Pacific SLSC at Palm Beach. This dedicated function centre has a gorgeous grassy area facing the sea for ceremonies. Some of the reception packages are very good value for money.
Just a couple of things to remember. The Pacific Beach Function Centre is very popular, so get in early to get the date you want. It’s a good idea for your guests to arrive by cab because parking can be a bit of a problem at times. There are plenty of accommodation options nearby, so staying close to the venue and walking to your wedding is also a good choice.
To find out more about on-the-sand weddings, have a look at my blog Broadbeach Weddings. If sandy feet aren’t for you, check out some Gold Coast Wedding Parks.
Beautiful location, excellent function venue… now call me to chat about a celebrant for your dream wedding.
